Located amidst a smattering of golf courses, Cherry Hills, Colorado, is a golf lover's dream come true. The city is found about 15 miles south of Denver, with the Cherry Hills Country Club to the west, Glenmoor Country Club to the south and Wellshire Golf Course to the north. The city lies on the western side of Arapahoe County and is home to a population of around 6,500, as of 2007 estimates. The city's residents are mostly more well to do than the average Coloradan, with a median household income in the city in 2007 of nearly $210,000.

The city incorporated in 1945, and adopted its first master plan in 1950, which established a community center district and allowed for limited commercial uses within the town, vowing to maintain the rural feel. The city experienced a population boom after its incorporation, growing more than 500% between 1950 and 1970. The city today still maintains its rural character and is predominantly residential. The area has very low crime rates, and provides residents with ample open space and recreation areas to enjoy.

Professional, scientific and technical services and health care, are the largest industries in which residents are employed, and around a third of residents work within those fields. The city is home to the Cherry Hills Village Equestrian Association, for horse enthusiasts. Each year, Cherry Hills hosts an annual Arbor Day celebration. There is one elementary school within the town, and students attend middle and high schools in nearby communities. There is a community college about 10 miles away in Aurora. For health needs, Swedish Medical Center is just up the road from Cherry Hills, and several shopping districts are just minutes away, including Happy Canyon Shopping Center, Tamarac Square Mall and Tiffany Plaza.
