Northglenn Real Estate Information

A suburban town, Northglenn, Colorado, is located about 12 miles due north of the state’s capital, Denver. Population estimates from 2005 show the population of the town at around 33,000. It is located within the confines of Adams and Weld counties, and has a total area of around 7.5 square miles.

Construction and health care are the most common industries for residents to be employed in, with the nearest hospital just four miles away in Thornton. The Denver International Airport is just 23 miles away, offering convenient access to commercial flights both locally, nationally and abroad.

Northglenn operates 25 parks that comprise nearly 350 acres across the town, including Livingston Park, Thornton Recreation Center Park and E.B. Rains Jr. Memorial Park, one of the more notable locations in the city as the site of the annual 4th of July celebration and Art on Parade exhibit. E.B. Rains park also is the site of Webster Lake, situated in the middle of the park. Other annual celebrations in Northglenn include Mudapalooza, National Night Out’s crime and drug prevention event, Safe Street Halloween and Noel Northglenn.

The public school system here include Northglenn High School, two middle schools and seven elementary schools. Additionally, Colorado Virtual Academy is a K-12 school in operation. When not at work or school, residents of the area can enjoy a walk along the Farmer's Highline Canal trail or shopping at Garland Shopping Center and Northglenn Marketplace. Warm months make Legacy Ridge Golf Course and The Ranch Country Club an ideal spot to hit a few rounds, and D.L. Parsons Theatre features an array of performances and events throughout the year. For even more, take a day trip into Denver to visit one of its many attractions like the Denver Zoo, Denver Art Museum, Denver Museum of Nature and Science, Denver Botanic Gardens and the U.S. Mint.
