Federal Heights Real Estate Information

A small suburban town located about 10 miles north of Denver, Federal Heights, Colorado, is a pleasant, tight-knit community. The city's population was estimated at around 12,000 in 2005, and it encompasses an area of almost two square miles. The city lies within the confines of Adams County, and was incorporated in 1940 by its 31 residents.

Construction, health care, finance and insurance are the major industries in which residents of Federal Heights are employed, with three hospitals located within a few minutes: St. Anthony North Hospital, North Valley Hospital and North Suburban Medical Center. The major employers in the city include Water World, Rocky Mountain Clothing Company, Pinnacle Charter School, King Soopers, the city government, Safeway and Federal Heights Elementary School.

Federal Heights is perhaps best known as being home to Water World, one of the largest water parks in the country and an economic boon to the city, as it brings in thousands of visitors each summer. The city's recreation areas include 29 sports fields, 27 parks making up more than 400 acres, several community centers, tennis and racquetball courts, a skate park and three outdoor swimming pools. Shopping is easy to find within the city and nearby, with areas like the North Valley Mall and nearby Westminster Mall. There are three excellent golf courses nearby in Westminster, and Denver is home to a major team in each professional sport: baseball, football, basketball and hockey. Westminster Symphony in the next town over provides musical performances throughout the year. The nearby Anheuser-Busch Brewery is also a favorite tourist spot, and a great location for taking out-of-town guests.

An elementary schools and Pinnacle Charter School are within the city, and students attend junior and senior high in nearby cities. Degree programs can be found at numerous institutions in the region, including Belleview College, Front Range Community College, Regis University and Red Rocks Community College, as well as the various colleges and universities within Denver.
